NLP- Body Sensing & Movement Awareness
Body NLP fuses more than
5 processes including Feldenkrais body work, muscle strengthening, energy
work, massage, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Movement Sensing
Training. It has been developed from a sound understanding of
the anatomy, physiology and movement theories of the soma, in
combination with the programming and language pattern theories
of NLP. The three applications of Body NLP are preventive,
therapeutic, & performance
1. Preventive
When we
stand, walk, and interact with others, and ourself, we give clues
to our relationship with the World. Our movement behaviour reflects
our emotional state, and our identity. During childhood and beyond,
humans move through life transferring from exploring to existing
in a self created pattern. We live in World's of our own making.
The potentially, easy, free, flexible, organic, creative explorations
of childhood, can soon give way to fixed ideas, and rigid mechanical
action as folk conform to society. Habituation while useful, can
in later life manifest as dysfunction, causing breakdown in either
body or mind. In the body this can manifest as ill health, disease
and pain. In the mind we can feel anxious, depressed, confused,
unhappy. Body NLP can be used preventively to intervene revealing
potential areas of breakdown through rediscovering, retraining,
and coaching individuality and creativity. Through subtle movement
sequences, positioning, massage, and energy work the body can
be kept healthy.
If breakdown,
or damage has begun to develop within our behaviour, it is imperative
to take action to prevent long term pain, and reduction of function.
However, change takes time, awareness and commitment. Reflex activity
is fast, awareness needs us to slow down. We need to understand
our core habits, because habits tend to recur. Habits are easy,
and safe. We have powerful reason to hold on to a habits. New
skills have to be exercised regularly to keep them fresh. Degeneration
and breakdown are caused through a combination of poor integration,
and lack of resiliance. Soft tissues are not designed for long
term stresses, we have bone tissue for load bearing. Poor loading
of bone in combination with habitual movement faults leads to
wear and tear. Poor emotional loading to physical or emotional
disruption. Body NLP movement sensing classes and 1:1 bodywork
combined with NLP approaches train more healthy patterns often
long forgotten. Time spent in regenerative processes, learning
to give and receive through massage, to express outself through
art and flow.
To function
as a victim of life, just bumping from day to day, is existence.
Simply sitting on the riverbank of life watching it pass by, feeling
as if its happening to you. To know where we want to go, and explore
how to achieve our goals, is performance. You may have to change,
and learn to model, discover the dedication and values you need
to develop as a winner. You may need to explore your identity,
beliefs, values, and how these changes will impact on others.
Sometimes our past, can get in the way. Often the very harder
we strive the more difficult the elusive obvious becomes. Body
NLP helps break down the barriers which appear to make life impossible.
By rediscovering our somatic self we can rediscover our soul.
We can chose to perform authentically. Body NLP can be used in
industry, the corporate sector, andon a personal level to develop
our own performance individually and within the team.
